Christmas Theme Blog Hop

Merry Christmas!  Welcome to my blog!  I am a hobby demonstrator in Alaska.  I love card making! I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do. I originally intended to us the All is Bright suite, but ended up with a combination of suites with a completely different design than I originally thought I wanted to do.

After stamping the card base on real red cardstock with the Making Christmas Bright string of lights stamp with Real Red ink, I layered the Joyous Noel copper glimmer paper on a real red cardstock base.  A Christmas tree from the Ready for Christmas stamp set is stamped in Garden Green on Mossy Meadow and cut out using the Christmas staircase thinlets dies.  Layered on top of the tree is Merry Christmas from the Merry Christmas thinlets dies on the Merry Merlot glimmer paper.  The Merry Christmas thinlets dies add the perfect elegant touch to my Christmas card.  Decorate the tree with any embellishments you like, but I love the red and clear rhinestones.

The inside sentiment from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set with a strip of copper glimmer paper between the two stamps continues the elegance from the front.  The sentiment is stamped in Merry Merlot ink.

Welcome to the Christmas in July Blog Hop!

This stunning card features the Night In Bethlehem stamp set and Bethlehem edgelits dies.  I used shimmer paper as the card base, silver foil card stock to create the buildings die cuts and champagne foil to create the character die cuts.

First, I cut the shimmer paper length-wise at 5 1/2" wide.  I then scored it at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2" from the top.  Finally I trimmed the "short" section down to 1 1/2".  Fold the card at the score marks so the top folds down and the small section on the bottom folds up.  This was done to help create the layered look.

Next, I stamped the large North star with versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder.  Then I stamped the stars stamp with versamark and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter.

Using snail adhesive, I attached the larger edgelits background to the top section.  I used dimensionals to adhere the smaller edgelit to the bottom section to help it stand out from the background.  Lastly, I used dimensionals again to adhere the figures as the top layer.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment on the front and inside with Merry Merlot ink to give it a little "pop" of color.

This is a must have stamp set as you can create some of the most elegant Christmas cards.

Christmas in July Blog Hop!

**Star of Wonder Shaker Card**

Using embossing and watercolor techniques, this card will be loved by any recipient!  Tempting Turquoise is used for the card stock and primary ink pad color.  I used Tempting Turquoise and a little bit of Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky on the water colored white shimmer card stock using the aqua painters. After allowing the water colored paper to completely dry, I stamped the large star from the Star of Light stamp set with Versamark and used silver embossing powder to give it that extra special touch.  I finished off the shaker card using adhesive strips, white glitter, a window sheet and topped with either Whisper White or White Shimmer cardstock.  I attached the "shaker" to the card front with multipurpose glue (it's easier to attach the watercolored paper to the card base first, then build the shaker on that).  I stamped the expressions in Tempting Turquoise from the same stamp set and the inside star with Crushed Curry.  Lastly, I added a bit of pizzazz to the front by using the "snowflake" washi tape.
